An introduction to the digital comic "Jackass VS Niceass". A digital scroll-format comic set in the skateboarding scene in Umeå.
The story follows a friendly group of riders who have their own ramp on the outskirts of town. They find themselves in a dispute with the notorious group Jackass, and a battle for the park is inevitable.
The style is "film in slideshow format" with a narrator's voice. Only 3 colors are used, yellow and green (Umeå's colors) and blue to differentiate between sky and sea. A sketch-like style characterizes the entire series with only detailed sketches in the foreground to mimic the focus of a camera.
In this project, I learned to trust my own style. An important theoretical/technical lesson I take from this project is how composition, eye movement, and readability play together as a whole. Another important detail is to utilize/not forget the importance of a nice "metal panel."
